Let me get straight down to business. The Companies Act, 1956 has been in force for over 50 years and accordingly you guys are pretty well versed in theoretical aspects of it. So till the time the Companies Act, 2013 and allied Rules fully come into force I will be giving a you a practical guide to the existing theoretical provisions and will share certain tips to add a little more value.

If you see the middle of the web page you will find that it contains the new Companies Act, 2013 in .pdf format and also a link to the Companies Act 2013 - Capacity Building Lecture Videos by ICSI. These capacity building videos contains analysis of various provisions of the new Act. You can watch these videos on youtube.
Now, lets see some fun stuff. I think all of us have heard the names of ITC LTD, TATA STEEL LTD, INFOSYS LTD and many others. But do you the the date of incorporation of these companies or the registered office of these companies or who are the directors of these companies and who is acting in what capacity as a director etc. We can find all these details on this website without much of a problem.
Let me show you how to get the above details of any company registered in India, whether PVT LTD or PUBLIC LTD: To illustrate I chose ITC LIMITED
First I want to know details about the company like the date of incorporation of these companies or the registered office of these companies etc. I order to see this we have to click on the link "view company master data and index of charges" under Quick Links appearing at the bottom on the left hand side of the webpage. After clicking you will get the following web page:
Thereafter click on the option"view company master data" and you will get
Then enter the name of the ITC LIMITED in the company/LLP name criteria and leave the CIN block empty and click search then click OK and then submit and

Here you can see registered address of the company, its Authorised and Paid up capital, date of incorporation, whether it is listed or not etc.
We can also see who are the authorised signatories of the company and there various details just by clicking on "signatories of the company" highlighted in red. We can see the charges registered by the company by clicking on "Charges registered".
